FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND is the latest book which has been written by a Memon brother from Bantva. This is a autobiography by Mr. Iqbal Ismail Calcuttawala who belongs to ARAG family.
Mr. Iqbal Ismail has done his Master of Business Administration from University of Pettsburgh, USA and M.A. Economics from Karachi University . He has worked with Investment Corporation of Pakistan and has also been Director of Karachi Stock Exchange.
In his book, he has talked about three families of Bantva i.e. Haji Habib Haji Pirmuhammad family group i.e. Arag Ltd, Dada Ltd & Adam Ltd
but mainly about Arag Group and his own family experiences and the experiences in working for building up the Arag Group in Pakistan.
The Arag Group had branches all over India before partition in addition to some branches in other countries as well.
Once the Arag Empire included companies like Habib Textile Mills Ltd, English Biscuit Ltd, Albert David Company Ltd & Premier Bank Ltd.
Mr. Iqbal Ismail has also talked about his years with ICP and various political pressures on his Boss The Managing Director of ICP.
This book is worth reading and will give the readers an idea about business of Memons families of Bantva.
Mr. Iqbal Ismail is the Chairman of ACE Securities (Pvt) Ltd, a Corporate Brokerage House of Karachi Stock Exchange.
He is also of Former Director of Karachi Stock Exchange.
