THE PAKISTAN MEMON EDUCATIONAL & WELFARE SOCIETY, KARACHI

The Memon Educational and Welfare Society is the foremost Organization of the Memon Community. Established in 1933 at Calcutta by Adamjee H. Dawood and his colleagues, its main purpose was and still is to provide scholarships to the needy students and promote the cause of education in the community which was very backward in this field half a century ago. After the Society was formed anew in both India and Pakistan quite independent from one another. During last three decades, both Societies have also expanded their fields of activities and have taken up establishment of educational institutions and Memon Colonies.

 

The Society was established in 1953. Mr. A. Wahid Adamjee has his President. Mr. A. Wahid Adamjee continued the President of the Society from 1953 to 1969. Mr. Hanif S. Kalis is the present President of the Society. The society paid Rs. _ as scholarship during the year 2000-2001.
